Toronto Field Captain
Contractor · $20–25 CAD/hr · starting June 2026
GoVibe is an early-stage city data platform built on top of ecopia spatial AI. We're hiring 1–2 Field Captains as paid contractors in Toronto. This is not a delivery gig and not a research assistant role — you're the first GoVibe person physically in the city, meaning you partly shape how the Toronto playbook gets written.
Compensation
$20 CAD/hr base + up to $300/month performance bonus, tied to (a) data acceptance rate ≥75%, (b) submissions in scarce zones, (c) one event/community deliverable per month.
10–15 hrs/week, flexible. T4A contractor (you invoice us). Initial 3-month contract with a 30-day mutual trial. You also accumulate standard GP/CaP credits on your own POI submissions (GoVibe contributor economics; explained at offer).
Progression — visible from day 1
Best Field Captains get promoted to Neighborhood Captain at month 3–6 ($22/hr + up to $500/mo bonus + Captain badge). M9 candidates for City Lead or a city N+1 launch ($25/hr → transition to a salaried role at M12).
One "Founding Captain" recognition is reserved for whoever is still active and performing at M6 — one slot max, performance-decided, vests forward 12 months.

- Walk 3–5 Toronto neighborhoods (Kensington/Chinatown, Distillery, UofT St. George, Junction, East York) and capture sample POIs on your phone
- Sit in on 2–3 creator coffee meetups per week, take notes, help close
- Maintain a small Toronto Scout Discord as it grows
- Run 1–2 City Scout Day events/month from M2
- Flag QA issues — bad submissions, unclear instructions, app bugs

- Studying or recently graduated from UofT (any campus), TMU, OCAD, York, Sheridan
- Already embedded in a Toronto micro-community: dining/探店, cycling, urban photography, hidden-gem walking, immigrant business networks, university subcultures
- Fluent English. Bonus: Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Punjabi, Tagalog, Korean, Farsi, Spanish, Portuguese
- Walks 2–3km comfortably; ok with Toronto winter
- iPhone or Android from 2022+ (camera + GPS)
Who we don't need
- No prior "community ops" experience required
- No CS background needed
- Not hiring for IG follower count — hiring for in-city presence

- Sample work: pick 3 POIs in your neighborhood (storefront, loading dock, building entrance, parking lot). Photograph each on your phone. Send the photos + a 1–2 sentence note on what makes each POI useful to a city data platform you'd want to use
- Earliest start date + weekly hours
- Bonus: any link to public work (IG, 小红书, photo project, blog, YouTube, OSM contributions)

GoVibe is pre-product-market-fit. The work shape will change. We'll iterate on tasks, payment, and scheduling, and ask for your feedback. If GoVibe doesn't reach key milestones, the role doesn't extend past 3 months. This is closer to "joining an expedition" than "taking a part-time job."

M6 保留 1 个 "Founding Captain" 身份,给仍在持续活跃的最佳 Captain——一个名额,performance 决定,12 个月 forward vest。
